Russell Taylors is a relatively unknown brand in the world of vacuum cleaners. It only started selling vacuum cleaners a few years ago. The company was founded in 2016 focusing on home appliance market. Russell Taylors mainly operates in Malaysia and neighboring countries like Singapore and Thailand.
Design
The design of the vacuum cleaner is quite standard compared to those vacuums available in the market. It comes with the standard accessories like the motorized floor brush, a crevice tool, a combination brush, a metal tube extender and a power adapter. The motorized floor brush does come with LED light that is bright enough to illuminate dust particles on the floor. The connectors for the extension tube and the tools are well designed for easy plug in and remove.
Performance
The Russell Taylors X1 comes with 3 speed modes – eco, normal and max. The vacuum can last about 35 mins on eco mode and about 18 mins on the max mode. The suction power on the eco mode is strong enough for normal usage especially with the motorized floor brush. With the max mode at 23 kPA, the suction is powerful enough to deep clean most carpets.
With a little over 30 mins of usage on a full charge, it should be sufficient to cover a 1100 sqft condo unit. The charging time of the battery takes about 4.5 hours which is average among other vacuum cleaners in this price range. The battery unit however is NOT removable from the main housing so it is not possible to extend the usage time.
Maintenance
The Russell Taylors X1 vacuum cleaner is one of the easiest vacuum cleaners to maintain. The dust canister has a quick release for disposing waste with one click. You can also remove the whole canister by twisting the cover and pouring out the dust. The 3-stage filters can be easily dismantled, washed and left out to dry. Unlike some other vacuum cleaners which use a sponge-type filter that will need replacement once every 3 months, the maintenance cost of this vacuum is definitely lower.
