Gaabor Air Fryer AF65T Review
Gaabor is a German home appliance brand founded by Gabor Lorenz in 2008. Its Asian headquarter is currently located in China. Gaabor mainly operates in Southeast Asian market since 2021 and it became the top-selling brand in the small home appliance category on Shopee in 2022.
The Gaabor AF65T Air Fryer is able to cook food significantly faster thanks to the powerful 1500W heating element. It requires little to no preheating time, and the powerful 3D hot air circulation technology, leading to quicker cooking and more energy-efficient than a larger conventional oven. The 6.5L capacity is large enough to cook various dishes for a small family with 2 adults and 2 kids.
The AF65T model features an intuitive touch-screen controls, with 8 presets for cooking common foods like steak, chicken, seafood, vegetables, pastries and french fries. This means less guesswork and more consistent results. The non-stick and dishwasher-safe pot and tray minimize scrubbing and cleaning. All these features help busy mothers to optimize their time in the kitchen so they have more time to tend to their children.
One of the cumbersome drawbacks for the AF65T model is the default timer preset. It is set at 15 mins while the temperature is set at 180° C. The timer is usually too high and we have to reduce it everytime. It would be better if it starts from 1 min and we can increase it upwards
The viewable window is a nice feature to have. However, due to the dark tinting of the window, we can’t see clearly the food inside. Ultimately we still have to remove the tray to check on the status of the food.
The design of the viewable window also leave an undesirable side effect (I’m not sure whether it is intended). There is a small gap in between the windows that can trap water or moisture. Sometimes when using the air fryer, quite a lot of water will form at the bottom of the tray.
